River Dart Country Park in Ashburton, Devon, is seeking a Kitchen Porter to help maintain a clean, organized kitchen and support chefs with basic tasks and food preparation as needed.

The role offers variable hours with pay per hour dependent on age, qualifications and experience. No formal qualifications are required and training is provided. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays is essential.

Qualifications

• Good physical stamina (standing for long periods, lifting items).

• Basic understanding of hygiene and cleanliness.

Responsabilités

• Washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans.
• Keeping kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas clean and sanitized.
• Assisting with basic food preparation (e.g., peeling vegetables, chopping).
• Taking out rubbish and managing waste disposal.
• Unloading deliveries and storing ingredients properly.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP).
• Supporting chefs and other kitchen staff as required.
