Do you have hands-on experience in front end web development? Are you excited about helping to build our interface to support our new Digital Twins tool?

If this sounds like you and you are driven by purpose, join the SOPHiA GENETICS Multimodal R&D Team as a Junior Software Engineer, Front-End, Web Developer, and enable us to make a positive impact on the outcomes for cancer and rare disease patients worldwide.

This role is a hybrid opportunity, requiring 3 days onsite at our corporate office in Pessac, FR.

Overview

We are looking for a front-end developer to help build and improve our interface for the Digital Twins tool, contributing to the SOPHiA GENETICS DDM platform that supports data-driven decisions in healthcare.

Your Mission

As our Junior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and continuously improving core systems, while contributing to technical initiatives and ensuring solutions meet both business and technical requirements. The components you will work on enable SOPHiA GENETICS’ DDM operations, transforming medical data into insights for oncologists.

Responsibilities
  • New Feature Development: Implement new features and enhancements based on evolving business and technical requirements. Contribute to the user interface design and its integration in the existing web modules.
  • Software Quality: Apply clean code practices, implement component tests, and manage vulnerabilities to ensure software safety. Implement end-to-end tests for new feature testing and to avoid regression.
  • Front-End Skills: Strong knowledge in JavaScript and React for front-end development.
  • Architecture & Integration: Good understanding of microservices architecture; good knowledge of REST and GraphQL APIs.
  • User Experience: Good knowledge of user experience and sketching tools; familiarity with version control software and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Domain: Experience in medical software is beneficial.
