Canonical Product Manager – EMEA

Role Overview

You will set a clear vision, prioritize work effectively, and ensure the team delivers high‑quality products that meet business and user needs. During the interview process we will identify specific software products that match your interests.

Product Domain Expertise
  • Ubuntu Platform – Desktop, Server, Windows (WSL), Multipass, Gaming, Enterprise, and Hardware Enablement
  • Ubuntu Pro Services – Commercial offerings in compliance, security engineering, and managed services on cloud and on‑prem
  • AI/ML & MLOps – Open source AI/ML solutions, AIOps automation, model lifecycle management, Kubeflow, MLFlow, KServe, and AI infrastructure on cloud and edge
  • IoT – Embedded devices and edge servers, device management, and robotics
  • Cloud – Public and private clouds, automation frameworks, Kubernetes, MAAS, and LXD
  • Telco – Core Network, RAN/vRAN, SoNIC, DENT, and SmartNICs
  • Finance – Trading platforms, blockchain, regulatory compliance, and AI‑driven analytics
  • Automotive – Autonomous driving, connected vehicles, infotainment, and compliance (ISO 26262/ISO 21434)
  • Application Management – Observability, IAM, App Stores, Grafana, GitOps, and Juju Charms
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the product development lifecycle and review priorities for your product line
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (engineering, design, marketing, sales, support)
  • Address common challenges across projects and keep business execution on track
  • Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and gather customer feedback to identify opportunities
  • Communicate vision, status updates, and key decisions to ensure alignment and manage expectations
  • Conduct usability testing, analyze user feedback, and iterate to improve the user experience
  • Develop go‑to‑market strategies, create product documentation, and provide training
  • Contribute to the success of sales teams in winning new opportunities and reviewing customer feedback
  • Oversee the work of a product line, ensuring consistency in strategy and execution across different teams
  • Facilitate collaboration and resolve conflicts within and across teams and departments
What We Are Looking For
  • Exceptional academic results at high school and university
  • Deep understanding of Linux and the open source community
  • Strong technical background in computer architecture, application development, datacenters, cloud, or devices
  • Passion for writing about technologies and the tech landscape
  • Strong work ethic, personal interests aligned with the open source movement, and curiosity for continuous learning
  • A strong sense of ownership and ability to manage multiple projects or product lines while maintaining focus on key priorities
  • Outstanding communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to four times a year for company events up to two weeks long
Additional Skills That We Value
  • Familiarity with verticals (Telco, Finance, Industrial, Automotive)
  • Knowledge of cloud native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Snaps)
  • Experience with embedded and connected device technology and ecosystems
  • Networking technologies (Ethernet, IPv4/IPv6, routing, firewalling, overlays such as OVN/OVS, VPNs, SR‑IOV, infiniband)
  • Leading distributed teams across different time zones
  • Foster collaboration and innovation in team settings
