ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a motivated Junior Irish Translator to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in professional translation, localization, and linguistic research.

In this position you will assist with linguistic tasks such as quality control, translation, and localization while gaining hands‑on experience in a professional language services environment.

This position is ideal for aspiring Irish linguists seeking to develop their skills in a dynamic, global organization while contributing to real‑world projects that drive impactful results.

MAIN DUTIES
  • Assist with copy‑editing tasks for assigned projects or accounts in Irish.
  • Perform on‑demand translation tasks between Irish and English.
  • Support linguistic adaptation tasks for English content.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining linguistic materials, including glossaries, style guides, and project‑specific documentation.
  • Contribute to project‑related queries and collaborate with team members to resolve terminology or language issues.
  • Support quality assurance processes by testing and qualifying new freelancers and vendors.
  • Participate in the development of new working processes and provide input for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including freelancers and clients, on linguistic matters.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Translation, Applied Languages, or a related field.
  • Native or near‑native fluency in Irish and English.
  • Familiarity with localization processes and translation workflows.
  • Basic understanding of CAT tools (e.g., XTM, SDL Studio) and issue‑tracking tools (e.g., JIRA) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail‑oriented, with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
