Job summary

Markjames is seeking an IT/OT Project Manager for a long-term pharma manufacturing programme. 100% remote from France, the role bridges IT and OT in a highly regulated environment, delivering end-to-end IT/OT solutions and ensuring compliance with GxP and cybersecurity standards.

The contractor will lead testing, validation and documentation, and collaborate with architects, application owners and stakeholders to meet site requirements and enterprise architecture guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering IT/OT projects in pharmaceutical/manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of IT/OT convergence and industrial networks.
• Familiarity with GxP regulations and pharmaceutical validation requirements.
• Experience with cybersecurity in industrial settings and IEC 62443.
• Knowledge of MES, SCADA, DCS and PLC interfaces.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end IT/OT infrastructure and technology projects within pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
• Engage with business stakeholders and application owners to define requirements.

• Produce technical documentation covering design and operations.
• Manage transition and handover to operations teams.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced IT/OT Project Manager to support a major global pharmaceutical organisation on a long-term digital infrastructure and industrial technology programme.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, delivering end-to-end IT/OT solutions across industrial infrastructure, automation, cybersecurity and manufacturing systems.

The successful candidate will play a key role in bridging IT and Operational Technology (OT), ensuring solutions are delivered in line with enterprise architecture standards, cybersecurity requirements and pharmaceutical GxP regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of IT/OT infrastructure and technology projects within pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
• Engage with business stakeholders and application owners to gather and define technical and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with technical specialists and architects to design solutions aligned with enterprise standards and site requirements.
• Ensure IT/OT solutions comply with corporate cybersecurity policies and industrial security best practices.
• Support IT/OT convergence initiatives, including industrial networking, automation systems and infrastructure integration.
• Ensure compliance with GxP regulations and pharmaceutical validation requirements.
• Coordinate and support testing, qualification and validation activities.
• Monitor project progress, provide regular reporting and proactively manage risks, issues and escalations.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation covering solution design, implementation and operational processes.
• Manage the transition and handover of completed solutions to operational support teams.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in IT/OT project delivery, ideally within pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure technologies, including:
• Virtualisation, backup and storage solutions
• Active Directory and Windows/Linux environments
• Database technologies
• Experience working with industrial OT systems, including SCADA, DCS, PLC integration and HMI.
• Strong knowledge of IT/OT convergence and industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA, Profinet and EtherNet/IP.
• Experience with industrial cybersecurity frameworks, particularly IEC 62443, network segmentation and secure industrial architectures.
• Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Proven experience operating within GxP-regulated pharmaceutical environments.
• Strong stakeholder management, technical coordination and project delivery skills.
• Fluent French and professional working proficiency in English are essential.
