Job summary

The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) Observatory in Paris invites an intern to join the Data Integration and Analytics Department (DIAD). You will map SPS notifications and STCs to WOAH codes, build a reproducible data pipeline in Python or R, and use LLMs to align texts with relevant chapters.

You will validate outputs and present findings to stakeholders. This six-month, full-time internship offers exposure to international trade data, statistical thinking, and uncertainty

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree or final year in a quantitative field.
• Experience with data processing and statistical analysis using R or Python.
• Knowledge of NLP/text extraction and LLMs.
• Good reproducible-code practices (Git, documentation, testing).

Responsibilities

• Develop reproducible data pipeline to collect SPS notifications from ePing.
• Map outputs to WOAH codes using LLMs; document and present the work.
• Triangulate pipeline with other sources and assess extraction quality.
• Propose approaches to quantify uncertainty in indicators.
