Job summary

The Inria center at the University of Rennes is offering an internship in statistics methods for neuroimaging data reuse, focusing on measuring and mitigating sample overlap in task-fMRI data, under the supervision of Dr. Camille Maumet.

The project is part of the ANR JCJC VICUNA, with tasks including exploring data repositories, reading key publications, and developing code to extract information and run simulations to address overlap challenges.

Qualifications

• Masters in statistics or data science.
• Strong interest in medical imaging.
• Excellent understanding of English.

Responsibilities

• Familiarise yourself with OpenNeuro and NeuroVault, two repositories for brain data sharing.
• Learn about neuroimaging statistics with dependant data in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
• Read scientific papers on sample overlap and neuroimaging data analysis.
• Develop code to extract information from OpenNeuro and NeuroVault, build simulations.
• Reference papers: Bom & Rachinger 2020; Germani et al. 2025; Lefort-Besnard et al. 2025; Mumford & Nichols 2009.

Skills
