A global semiconductor company in Île-de-France is offering an internship to design an innovative Emergency Lighting solution. The role involves schematic and PCB design, software development, and testing. Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in Electrical or Computer Engineering with strong problem-solving skills and C programming knowledge. The internship presents a unique opportunity to demonstrate technology and engage with key customers, hopefully leading to a graduate position post-internship.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a relevant engineering program.
Previous experience in C programming is required.
Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities are necessary.
Must be able to work independently while being a team player.
Strong communication skills and presentation abilities are required.
Experience with PCB design is an advantage.

Responsabilités

Design the schematic and PCB for the emergency lighting system.
Develop software for the main MCU and AFE MCU.
Conduct testing and measurement of the designed system.
Present the final product to customers.

Job Description

Context :

The lighting industry plays a crucial role in modern society, encompassing a wide range of applications from residential and commercial spaces to industrial and public infrastructure. Lighting solutions are essential for enhancing visibility and safety and have evolved significantly with advancements in technology.

Indeed, with a semiconductor market in constant evolution, new technologies arise which enables further improvements in term of power consumption, compacity or cost which represent high revenue opportunity for TI.

Your goal during this internship will be to design from scratch an innovative Emergency Lighting solution using TI newest technology. In the end, your will showcase it to our customers in order to highlight TI technological differentiation and what it can bring to our customers.

The project will be exploiting several key technologies:

Low-power MCU with high analog integration used as an Analog Front-End (amplifying and filtering)
LED driver
Battery charger
AC/DC
DALI interface
Isolation

The internship mission consists of 4 main tasks:

Designing the schematic and the PCB of the system
Developing the SW for the main MCU and the MCU used as an AFE
Testing and measuring
Presenting to the customer

Qualifications

The team you will join:

In this role you´ll be part of a team of Field Application Engineers and account managers based inIssy-Les-Moulineaux who are working with key industrial & automotive customers to generate revenue growth. This is achieved by working closely with our costumer, identifying early projects and working closely with the R&D to solve their engineering design challenges at the right cost.

Profile:

Enrolled in Electrical engineering, Computer engineering or similar
Previous experience in C programming
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently as a team member
Strong communication & ability to present
Previous experience in PCB design in a plus

Other information specific to the role (i.e. % travel...)

Support the field sales and field application engineer to visit customers and solve their design challenges

If successful during your internship it may lead to you being hired as a graduate Field Applications Engineer or Technical Sales Representative in 2026.
