Nūmi is a bioproduction platform using human mammary cells to produce key ingredients for infant nutrition. We are an early-stage VC-backed biotech startup, seeking an enthusiastic Intern in genetic engineering to join our team and work on cell line development and characterisation.

You will gain hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art lab, perform cell culture, RT-qPCR, flow cytometry or Western blot under supervision, and contribute to data reports.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing an Engineering degree in biological sciences, bioprocessing, chemical engineering, biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in cell culture showcasing your ability to learn and adapt protocols effectively.
  • Currently enrolled in a school/university in which the internship is part of the curriculum (has access to "Convention de Stage").
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques such as transfection, RT-qPCR, flow cytometry and/or Western blot is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret experimental data effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while being proactive and self-motivated.
  • Genuine interest and passion for Nūmi’s mission to revolutionise infant nutrition.

Responsabilités

  • Conducting cell culture experiments: learning and helping senior cell scientists on various cell culture experiments.
  • Using cell and molecular biology techniques: apply a range of experiments such as RT‑qPCR, immuno‑histochemistry, Western blot and flow cytometry.
  • Documentation and reporting: document experimental procedures, observations to ensure data integrity and traceability and prepare comprehensive reports that convey experimental findings, progress, and potential areas for improvement.
  • Supporting admin and operational tasks: assistance in lab management, lab duties and helping other team members, and especially supporting our lab manager Julie in day‑to‑day operations.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Intern in genetic engineering to join our innovative team. This intern will play a key role in the development and characterisation of cell lines. You will gain hands‑on experience in a state‑of‑the‑art startup laboratory while contributing to our mission of improving infant and specialised nutrition.
