Job summary

Bayer's La Dargoire Research Center in Lyon, France invites you to join the Plant Pathology Hub as an internship focused on cryopreservation of fungal strains and laboratory automation. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to organize, track, and store fungal collections using barcoded systems, and to configure software for sample registration and inventory control.

Qualifications

Pursuing vocational bachelor’s degree or equivalent in biology or related field.
Interest in microbiology, plant pathology, or fungal strain collection management.
Rigorous in following procedures and data entry.
Proficient with digital tools, spreadsheets, and data management software.
Autonomous and able to follow laboratory safety instructions.
Strong communicator and team player.

Responsibilities

Assess the existing fungal strain collection for viability and purity.
Help establish a physical organization system using barcoded tubes and boxes.
Configure and use software for sample registration, location, and tracking.
Define an inventory management strategy with registration, updates, and movement tracking.
Handle strains at very low temperatures and improve traceability.
