Job summary

Bayer CropScience Limited invites applications for an internship in Plant Pathology & Laboratory Automation at the La Dargoire Research Center in Lyon. The 6-month program starts January 2027 and offers hands-on experience across assay development, fungal biology, automation, and high-throughput screening.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, conduct literature reviews, and contribute to real screening activities while developing technical and scientific skills in an international R&D

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing Bac+3 to Bac+5 in relevant fields (Plant Pathology, Microbiology, Biotechnology).
• Laboratory experience in sterile conditions is preferred.
• Interest in automation, data analysis, and high-throughput screening.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize cellular assays for high-throughput screening of plant pathogens.
• Conduct literature reviews and establish culture/growth conditions for fungal pathogens.
• Perform microbiological experiments under sterile laboratory conditions.
• Support assay validation, automation, and transfer to robotic screening platforms.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data.
• Document and standardize experimental protocols to support continuous improvement.

Your Profile:

You are:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree (Bac+3 to Bac+5) in Plant Pathology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field
• Comfortable working in a laboratory environment, particularly under sterile conditions
• Motivated to work with laboratory automation and robotic platforms
• Enjoying hands‑on experimental work and data analysis
• Able to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team
• Curious, rigorous, and proactive
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
