Join us as an Institutional Derivatives Intern!
Are you ready to shape the future of capital markets? We’re seeking a results-driven Institutional Derivatives Intern to join our Financial Derivatives team in Paris, ideally starting in January 2026. You will report to the Head of Financial Derivatives.
Your role will be to assist the team in ensuring the business remains competitive in a demanding, fast‑growing environment. The intern will support the team in market and product development activities for its Derivatives franchise, help support client interactions, and be involved in marketing campaigns. Client targets include buy‑side and sell‑side liquidity providers, asset managers, and clearing members based in continental Europe and the UK.
The intern will interact daily with employees from various departments, the management team, and clients – interpersonal skills are key.
Your missions:
- Generating trading reports on a frequent basis to follow product developments and feed clients with trading trends.
- Supporting the team’s commercial efforts in building presentations for clients (banks, market makers, brokers) including statistics describing trading patterns and rankings.
- Supporting data scientists in research and quantitative projects using Python and VBA.
- Close monitoring of competitors’ developments on Euronext markets and market share trends.
- Lead advanced analysis on derivatives (options, futures, etc.) markets to guide strategic decision‑making and help product design.
- Conduct weekly/monthly client activity analysis.
- Support the team’s efforts to enhance the current product offering and trading functionalities, as well as evaluate new product development opportunities to distinguish Euronext from its competitors in the derivatives market.
- Participate in the marketing campaign for the launch of our new products/services.
- Monitor the business environment: regulatory changes, economic indicators, and competitive intelligence analysis in the derivatives markets (new product performance, potential differentiation, etc.).
- Maintain the client database to ensure a strong distribution network.
- Other ad‑hoc analyses and projects to support the Financial Derivatives team.
Your profile:
- Final or penultimate year of a master’s degree specialising in finance or engineering.
- Previous experience ideally in the banking sector or in a demanding position within the wider financial services industry and/or a large corporate – a plus.
- Good understanding of financial services.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities; ability to quickly gain a deep understanding of a wide span of complex strategic, operational and regulatory matters.
- Impeccable oral and written English. French would be a plus.
- Ability to articulate a strategy orally and in writing and to communicate key decision points clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Fast learner, proactive behaviour and entrepreneurial mindset – pragmatic, hands‑on execution, ability to recommend decisions under uncertainty.
- Ability to deliver results and make things happen from project inception to completion.
- Good interpersonal skills to handle a wide, multicultural network of stakeholders.
