Super-Sod is seeking an Inside Service Representative I to greet walk-in customers, process orders, and provide product inquiries in a fast-paced retail setting. You will balance transactions, support curbside and yard sales, and collaborate with store/region teams to deliver outstanding service.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, customer service experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

As an Inside Service Representative I at Super‑Sod, you’ll be the face of our brand, providing exceptional customer service to both residential and professional landscaping customers. From greeting walk‑ins to processing orders, assisting with product inquiries, and helping maintain a clean and welcoming storefront, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring every customer has a positive, helpful experience. Essential Functions

1. Greets customers as they enter the Super‑Sod stores.
2. Operates curbside, counter sales and on the yard as needed.
3. Collects information specific to the customer’s lawn care needs both in‑person and over the phone; directs request to appropriate turfgrass professional.
4. Processes orders using Point of Sale system.
5. Assists customers with questions relating to delivery, availability or price discrepancies.
6. Ensures accurate transactions by balancing cash register at the beginning and end of shift, and sales at the end of shift.
7. Works closely with Store Managers, Inside Sales Representatives, and Loaders to provide optimal customer service internally and externally.
8. Communicates with Company Call Center and Service team members through digital internal communications boards.
9. Responds to requests from customers and assists with operational demonstration and handling products weighing up to 50 pounds.
10. Processes product returns and reimbursements according to Company policy and standard operating procedures.
11. Identifies prices and services and tabulates requested quotes using internal pricing software.
12. Communicates with members of other nodes to effectively support customer service and experience.
13. Keeps management informed of all activity, including timely preparation of reports.
14. Maintains storefront, displays and inside working areas to ensure workspaces are clean and accessible by employees and customers.
15. Responsible for upholding a safe culture and work environment at the location.
16. Performs any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.

This position requires no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional retail environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, digital filing systems and payment processing machines. The employee will be expected to work outside in all weather conditions and must have suitable clothing. They must have the ability and willingness to work in adverse conditions, not just including extreme weather but enclosed spaces and heights up to 8 feet. The employee will be expected to work around and with machinery that distributes loud noises and exhaust. Personal Protective gear is provided by the employer. This position does require handling and operating heavy equipment which may introduce a high risk to slips, trips and falls.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, lift, push, pull, stoop, or bend. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. This employee requires full range of motion of arms and legs and requires movement and use of limbs; this position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and office supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full‑time position. Days and hours can change at the discretion of the Store Manager or Regional Director; though typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday work is required only as job duties demand throughout harvesting season (typically March‑September from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.).

Travel

This position requires little to no travel time.

Required Education and Experience

1. High school degree and business discipline.
2. Customer Service experience.
3. Must be 18 years of age or older.
4. Pre‑employment background check and drug screening required.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Experience with turfgrass sod and seed in a retail setting.
2. Additional education in turf management, horticulture, or similar field of study.
3. Bilingual skills in English / Spanish are a big plus.

Compensation

Base Pay (Hourly): Retail Sales Base Rate average $16.00 – $20.00 per hour (based on experience and location)

• Inside Sales Commission: Retail Sales positions are eligible for monthly commissions based on individual and team sales performance.
• Average commission earnings in retail sales roles range from $25 to $600 per month, depending on store traffic and sales conversion.
• Commission is uncapped and paid monthly.
• Commission details and goals are shared during onboarding and tracked through our internal sales system.
• Employees must maintain good standing and meet minimum sales thresholds to earn commissions.

Hourly Retail Sales Pay Range: $16 – $20 USD
