Medtronic, based in Trévoux, France, is seeking an senior R&D engineer for the Textiles Center of Excellence. You will evaluate emerging textile technologies, develop innovative manufacturing solutions, and collaborate with international partners across research, product development, quality, supplier engineering and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in engineering related to textiles, materials, chemical, mechanical or biomedical fields.
• 4+ years in textile manufacturing or medical device materials; 2+ years with advanced degree.
• Experience with textile manufacturing tech: knitting, weaving, braiding, fibers, polymers.
• Experience evaluating/deploying new tech, processes or materials in R&D or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with PDP, design controls and product/process validation in regulated environments.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving in international teams.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain technical expertise in textile manufacturing technologies (knitting, weaving, braiding, fibers, polymers).
• Translate VOC/VOR/VOB insights into tech strategies, capability roadmaps and development priorities.
• Identify and advance emerging textile manufacturing technologies via feasibility studies and proofs of concept.
• Lead design and execution of experiments to evaluate new materials, processes, and equipment.
• Collaborate with R&D, product development, quality, supplier engineering and manufacturing teams to advance and industrialize next-gen textiles.
• Develop technology roadmaps, strategies, and business cases to support capability development and tech transfer.
• Provide technical leadership while communicating evaluations, recommendations and results to cross-functional teams and leadership.
