About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris within the In Room Dining Department, In Room Dining Coordinator - Order Taker is responsible forthe following duties:

  • You gather guests’ requests by phone while following the hotel’s established order-taking standards, process their charges, and communicate information as clearly as possible.
  • As the guest’s first point of contact with the housekeeping/room service department, you must have an excellent knowledge of the menu and the hotel in order to provide accurate information or direct guests to the appropriate person when their request does not concern room service directly.
  • You are responsible for handling orders, upselling, and ensuring that each order is accurate while applying quality standards. As such, you are in charge of guest billing and the accuracy of cash registers and end-of-shift reports.
    You also ensure the administrative follow-up of the department (reports, filing, functions, emails, instructions, memos, postings, etc.).
  • Your role also includes identifying each guest daily using cardex files, preparing the VIP guest list, recording all welcome amenities, and tracking their status (in room, pending, room move, DND, pre-arrival, etc.). Your mission therefore involves relaying all relevant guest information and feedback to your management.
  • You also provide support to the operational teams.

  • You have prior experience in a similar position within a 5-star hotel or palace.
  • You have an excellent command of both French and English.
  • You are motivated, dynamic, fast, and efficient, with strong communication skills and an excellent telephone manner.
  • You are able to maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
  • You are well-organized and capable of managing priorities effectively.
