Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring a Stormwater / Hydrologic Designer to join our dynamic Energy & Water Utilities group. This position will be responsible for hydraulic modeling and stormwater design and permitting. Qualified candidates will be key in supporting projects within our Energy & Utilities practice.

We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.

What You Will Do
  • Be a subject matter expert in performing hydrologic modeling.
  • Responsible for stormwater design and permitting, including site evaluation, stormwater control practice design, E&S controls/SWP3 support, existing design analysis and improvement, and the details of jurisdictional regulations.
What You Will Bring
  • Strong working knowledge of hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software tools (such as HydroCAD) as well as competency drafting in Civil3D.
  • Some experience in ArcGIS Pro or other ESRI products would be a plus.
  • Comfort with state, federal, local, and municipal hydrologic design requirements.
  • Experience specifically with Ohio EPA and City of Columbus regulations would be a plus.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with existing team, including mentoring and cross‑training.
  • Build from internal team tools, standard references (texts, jurisdictional documentation, data servers), and other resources to help continuously improve processes and deliverables.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Software: HydroCAD, HEC‑RAS.

Travel: We have several projects/clients in Ohio, travel to the area may be possible.

Base pay offered may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Pay Range $105,000 - $115,000 USD.
