Job summary

Siemens Software in Meylan (Grenoble area) offers a 6-month internship in topology optimization for electrical machines. You will develop iron loss models, implement gradients, and run exploratory optimizations within Simcenter Flux R&D. Fluency in French and English and a strong math/software background are required.

Hybrid by default, the program includes mentorship, access to learning resources, and a monthly gross stipend of 1,200€ with meal vouchers. Start January 2027.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s-level engineering program (Bac +5 / MSc or equivalent) in France.
• Solid background in applied mathematics and software development or computer science.
• Strong programming skills and familiarity with numerical methods and simulation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct literature review on iron loss models and their gradients for topology optimization.
• Design a numerical model and compute sensitivities to minimize or constrain iron losses.
• Implement the model on test cases and run initial optimizations.
• Analyze model limitations and provide insights for future industrial integration.
