At Airbus Helicopters, we gather in the same department most of the jobs that transversally contribute to the design of the helicopters cockpits – from the understanding of the operational concept of the helicopters, to the physical design of the crew interfaces, from characterization of the Human Factors aspects of the cockpit usage to the modelling of the flight crew’s displays.

We can split the overall the department activities in 4 main axis as follows: understand the environment of the helicopter and its operational use by pilots (customers); understand how the human brain works (cognitive functions) and its limits when operating a helicopter from the cockpit; define and design an optimal layout of the cockpit of a helicopter according to, among others, the two previous axes; break down all the axes above into functional specifications (alerting function, flight monitoring, etc.).

Your working environment: Major economic hub with Marseille-Provence Airport, Marignane is a dynamic city in the southeast of France. It is located near the cities of Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, which host a rich cultural and tourist offer. Close to the beaches of the Côte Bleue, it offers many options for water sports activities.

  • Translate axes into functional specifications (e.g., alerting function, flight monitoring).
Qualifications
  • Master degree level (or equivalent) in the field of HFE (Human Factors/Ergonomics).
  • Experience in human factors in aeronautics.
  • Transnational experience is a plus (Germany).

Soft Skills: teamwork, agility, fluency in communication/presentation, ability to synthesize ideas and escalate them in agreement with the audience.

Language skills: French (negotiation level), English (negotiation level), German notions welcome but not mandatory.

Travel

Some business trips are potentially to be expected (three times a year as first estimation) in France/Europe, and you must be willing to travel accordingly.

Location & Mission

This new job opportunity is based in Marignane (France) and your mission will consist in covering the above first 2 or 3 axes.

Benefits
  • Financial rewards: Attractive salary, agreements on success and profit sharing schemes, employee savings plan abounded by Airbus and employee stock purchase plan on a voluntary basis.
