Overview

HSE Manager – Project: DPC993A1 – Vertical Caster Project. Location: Le Breuil, France. Start Date: April. Duration: 6 months (renewable). Work Schedule: 8x5. Rotation: 90/15. Accommodation: Provided by the client. Local Transport: Provided by the client.

Language requirements
  • Mandatory: English (at least B2 - CEFR)
  • Preferred: French and Italian
Responsibilities
  • Study the safety documentation provided by the Client (Safety and Coordination Plan or similar) and the law requirements applied in the country where the site is made;
  • Drawn up and keep updated the Health and Safety Plan in cooperation with the HSES;
  • Eventually integrate the procedures included in the Client’s Health and Safety Management System with the requirements foreseen by safety regulation in force according to local or client law;
  • Drawn up and keep updated the emergency and evacuation plan depending on the real conditions of the sites;
  • Cooperate for the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to provide to site personnel and visitors before entering on site, and guarantee the availability of necessary PPE during the whole duration of the site;
  • Organize the safety training orientation referred to the specific and updated risks of the site, the following safety measures and the procedures to be adopted by the personnel deputed on site;
  • Implement the identification system of the personnel on site and guarantee that the authorized personnel only can access to the site;
  • Implement the identification system for vehicles and means;
  • Organize periodical safety coordination meeting (duly minute) with the Client’s personnel and subcontractors representative (and eventually with Client Site Coordinator) to previously define the procedures to follow on site;
  • Organize the emergency mock drill accordingly to the configuration of the site and to the content of the emergency plan;
  • Perform job site safety compliance inspections including safe work procedures, written reports and recommendations;
  • Temporary stop the activities if the safety conditions are not considered adequate;
  • Organize and record (Toolbox Talks) on site for show criticalities and recovery safety conditions and restart activities;
  • Notice any nonconformity regarding misbehaviors of the personnel and/or unsafe conditions in working areas;
  • Implement the system of Permit to Works, Lock Out Tag Out, on site during the commissioning of the plant;
  • Organize eventual safety training courses which could be necessary on site;
  • Manage incident reporting processes, including incident investigation, root cause analysis, as well as implementation of corrective and protection actions.
Mandatory requirements
  • Qualification: Engineering Graduation / Safety engineering / Industrial technical diploma / Similar scientific degree;
  • Minimum experience: 5 years in safety role in metalworking contexts, preferably metallurgical – steelworks;
  • Skills: excellent interpersonal and team skills;
  • Interpersonal: ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, analyze and solve problems;
  • Site activities: Willingness to continuously supervise the activities of workers directly in the work area, carrying out office activities at the end of shift;
  • Training: Italian / French or international training as Safety Manager (e.g.: NEBOSH, IOSH, RSPP, ASPP).
