La Barbarie Hotel by Eight Continents in Guernsey invites applications for a Live-Out Housekeeping Room Attendant. You will maintain guest rooms, bathrooms and public areas to the highest cleanliness and safety standards, and you must be able to respond to guest needs promptly while following COSHH and health and safety guidelines.

We are seeking candidates currently residing in Guernsey with the right to work, who can handle physical tasks, attention to detail, and basic English communication.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience preferred (hotel/resort).
• Understanding of cleaning standards and safe chemical handling.
• Physically fit and detail-oriented.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Right to work in Guernsey.

Responsabilités

• Clean, sanitize, and maintain guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas to hotel standards.
• Change bed linen, towels, and replenish guest amenities.
• Follow approved cleaning procedures and use chemicals safely (COSHH awareness).
• Report maintenance faults, damages, or safety hazards immediately.
• Handle guest belongings with care and report lost & found items.
• Respond to guest requests professionally and promptly.
• Maintain housekeeping trolleys, linen rooms, and storage areas.
• Adhere to workplace health & safety policies and fire regulations.

To Be Considered For This Position, Applicants Must

• Have previous experience working within a 4-star hotel environment.
• Be currently residing in Guernsey and eligible to work or transfer employment.
• Not require live-in staff accommodation, as accommodation is not available for this role.

Job Purpose

• To ensure guest rooms and assigned areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation, in compliance with local health, safety, and employment regulations.

Key Responsibilities
