Funded through FEMA and in partnership with the U.S. Virgin Islands Office of Disaster Recovery, this project will create resilient, future‑ready educational spaces – from innovative classrooms to gyms designed as hurricane shelters – giving our team the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the community.

Position Summary

The Health & Safety Manager will lead and oversee all site safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards while promoting a proactive safety culture across construction projects. This position is based in St. Thomas, USVI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee health and safety compliance across all construction areas and equipment, ensuring adherence to company H&S guidelines and regulatory requirements
• Provide guidance and support to project managers and field supervisors on safety matters and best practices
• Develop, implement, and deliver H&S training programs for new hires and existing personnel as needed
• Lead job site safety initiatives, acting as a resource and problem solver to maintain a safe working environment for all employees
• Supervise safety inspections, audits, and reporting; ensure proper documentation of incidents, inspections, and compliance activities
• Oversee drug and alcohol testing for new hires and manage the related badging process
• Ensure timely completion of state and company forms related to medical injuries and incidents
• Conduct and supervise incident investigations, implementing corrective actions and preventative measures
• Maintain and enforce adherence to the Company’s health and safety policies, procedures, and standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in health and safety management in construction environment
• OSHA 30‑hour certification required
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Flexibility to work weekends as needed
• English mandatory
