Datadog is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Security Libraries team, guiding customer‑facing runtimes across multiple languages. The role balances people leadership, product ownership, and production‑grade code health at scale.

You will coach engineers, shape roadmap, and collaborate with Product, Backend, and Frontend partners to deliver high‑impact security capabilities and developer tooling.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a team of engineers, setting direction with Product Managers, owning a backlog, and running delivery.
• Senior software‑engineering background with strong technical judgment.
• Track record developing people: coaching, feedback, and helping engineers grow.
• Strong cross‑team communication and ability to align many stakeholders.
• Experience building libraries, SDKs, developer tooling, or systems/run‑time software.
• Pragmatic product‑engineering experience weighing trade‑offs against customer impact.

Responsabilités

• Lead, grow, and develop a team of roughly 4-8 library engineers—coaching, giving direct feedback, and empowering senior ICs as technical leaders.
• Own team delivery and productivity: planning, milestones, reviews, and the on‑call rotation.
• Set product direction with Product Management and balance priorities across App & API Protection, Workload Protection, and Code Security.
• Stay technically close to the work—apply strong technical judgment, contribute code where it matters most.
• Build strong relationships and drive alignment across language teams and product, backend, and frontend partners.
• Shape team identity and culture, and own accountability when problems occur.
