Cozycozy is seeking a Head of Engineering to drive technical strategy and lead the IT team from its central Paris office. You will shape the architecture and ensure reliability while guiding AI initiatives to scale the platform for millions of travelers worldwide.

You will collaborate with product, design, and business teams, manage timelines and budgets, and foster a culture of innovation and data‑driven decision making in a fast‑growing travel-tech startup.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
• Experience leading technical teams or as a manager.
• Fluent in English (written & spoken); French is a strong plus.
• Startup/scale-up experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of backend/frontend technologies, especially Node.js, Angular, and TypeScript.
• Experience with MongoDB/MySQL/PostgreSQL and Kubernetes/Docker; CI/CD tools like GitLab/Jenkins.
• Able to manage stakeholders and build cross-team relationships.
• Excellent communicator and proactive team player.

About The Role

At Cozycozy, we’re building the world’s best accommodation metasearch platform making travel simple, transparent, and inspiring. As Head of Engineering, you’ll work hand-in-hand with our CEO to be a key pillar of our technical strategy, ensuring the quality and success of cozycozy’s IT projects.

Your mission will be to build a strong technological culture within the company, leading the IT team towards excellence, ensuring the reliability of our platform, and integrating emerging AI technologies to support our growth.

Your role will be structured across several key areas: Leadership, Project Management, Software Development & System Architecture and Processes & Security. You’ll be a bridge between Tech/Engineering and the wider organization, working closely with our teams ensuring that every decision is informed by data and aligned with our strategic goals.

The position is an onsite (yet flexible) role based in our office in central Paris.

Your mission

Technical Leadership and Team Management

• Developing and implementing our technical strategy and roadmap.
• Establishing a strong tech culture that promotes innovation and best practices within the IT team.
• Recruiting and leading the software engineering team.

Management of our Technical Projects

• Developing and managing the technical roadmap in collaboration with product and business teams and project managers.
• Managing technical projects while ensuring adherence to deadlines, quality, and budget.
• Allocating necessary resources and ensuring timelines are met.

Software Development and System Architecture

• Overseeing our global backend and frontend development.
• Leading rigorous code reviews to ensure software quality and performance.
• Participating in system architecture decisions to support the company's current and future needs.
• Supervising the design and implementation of a scalable and reliable system architecture.
• Overseeing the integration of AI and machine learning technologies.

Processes and Methods

• Defining and implementing processes and working methods to improve productivity and development quality.
• Implementing tools and automations to enhance the efficiency of development, testing, and deployment.
• Maintaining clear technical documentation.

Security, Performance, and Risk Management

• Overseeing the security and regulatory compliance of our infrastructure.
• Participating in security code reviews and ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
• Identifying technical risks and creating proactive mitigation strategies.
• Highly involved in troubleshooting during critical issues.

About You

• You have a Master's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field.
• You have experience in overseeing technical teams or individuals as a team lead or manager.
• You are fluent in English (written & spoken). French is a strong plus.
• A previous experience in a startup or scale-up environment would be a plus !
• You possess strong foundational knowledge of backend and frontend technologies, especially Node.js, Angular, and TypeScript.
• You have experience with databases [MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL] and a knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD tools like Gitlab and Jenkins.
• You navigate system architecture management and scalable infrastructures with ease.
• You are experienced in AI and familiar with machine learning technologies.
• You are comfortable managing stakeholders and building strong cross-team relationships.
• You are an excellent communicator and team player with proven collaborative skills. You motivate and inspire your team with your pro-activeness and positivity.
• You are comfortable in fast paced environments that are constantly evolving as we scale our teams.
