Verley is seeking a Head of Bioprocess to lead the Lyon pilot laboratory and drive scalable, robust bioprocess development. This hands-on leadership role combines scientific excellence with operational ownership, guiding a seven-strong team of researchers and engineers.

You will translate R&D priorities into actionable plans, ensure transfer-ready processes, and partner with Operations to enable eventual industrial deployment. A PhD or equivalent biotech background is expected.

Qualificações

• PhD or engineering degree in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering or related field.
• Strong expertise in microbial fermentation, bioprocess development and scale-up.
• Proven experience leading a bioprocess team and managing laboratory or pilot-scale operations.
• Hands-on experience designing, executing and interpreting laboratory and pilot-scale bioprocess experiments.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise a project portfolio, allocate resources and turn technical data into clear decisions.
• Strong leadership, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the development, optimization and scale-up of fermentation and downstream processes.
• Ensure effective planning, execution and interpretation of Bioprocess activities.
• Oversee safety, equipment, capacity and operational readiness for these activities.
• Guide the team in resolving technical challenges and translating data into clear decisions.
• Maintain high standards of scientific quality, reliability and execution.
• Translate R&D priorities into clear objectives, responsibilities and deliverables.
