Exotrail is seeking a GNC Expert for its R&D Team in either Toulouse or Massy. This role supports the rapid growth of the company, requiring extensive technical expertise in guidance, navigation, and control for satellites including leading R&D activities, defining testing strategies, and fostering innovation.

The ideal candidate has at least a Master’s or PhD in related fields and over 10 years in the industry, coupled with strong communication skills in both French and English.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in guidance, navigation and control for satellites or related systems.
• Strong knowledge of complete GNC system design from hardware to software.
• Technical leadership in multi-team meetings.

Position Overview

GNC Expert in R&D Team – Toulouse or Massy. Supports rapid growth of Exotrail.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing technical expertise and support
• Supporting advanced research
• Collaborating with cross‑functional teams
• Reviewing and approving technical documents (internal, suppliers, customers)
• Leading R&D activities on GNC applied to satellites
• Developing best practices and design guidelines for the team
• Defining test plans, validation strategies, and technological road‑map for feed systems
• Identifying and studying innovative technologies and methodologies
• Mobilising resources for exploration of innovations
• Representing Exotrail at seminars, forums, and promoting company vision and capabilities

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in aerospace engineering, robotics, electrical engineering, or related field
• 10+ years in guidance, navigation and control for satellites, launchers or related systems, encompassing concepts, design reviews, assembly, and testing
• Strong knowledge of complete GNC system design (hardware to software)
• Strong experience in GNC development, test preparation, and data processing
• Programming knowledge for GNC and mission analysis (Matlab‑Simulink, STK)
• Expertise in Python and proficiency in embedded software (C/C++)
• Strong technical leadership in multi‑team meetings and high agility
• Strong verbal and written communication in French and English (B2 minimum)
• Creativity when facing unexpected technical issues (design, assembly, etc.)
