Job summary

IQVIA is a leader in clinical research services and healthcare analytics seeking a Global Medical Safety physician to oversee pharmacovigilance activities and safety governance. You will lead safety reviews, mentor teams, and drive strategic initiatives across development and post-marketing programs.

The role requires MD-level credentials, licensure, and extensive experience in medical safety and regulatory compliance to ensure high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of global pharmacovigilance and regulatory requirements.
• Deep understanding of clinical development and medical safety monitoring.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Excellent consulting, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership with project oversight and financial accountability.

Responsibilities

• Medically review trial and post-marketing safety data (AEs, ADRs, coding, causality, seriousness, benefit-risk).
• Oversee safety documentation: narratives, reports, risk plans, submissions, labeling, ICFs.
• Support governance: safety boards, escalations, pharmacovigilance oversight, 24/7 support.
• Act as Global Safety Physician or advisor ensuring quality and timely deliverables.
• Present safety findings and provide expert medical consultation to teams and clients.
• Lead and develop medical safety teams; plan workload, mentor, train, and allocate resources.
• Manage financial, operational, and quality performance on projects; ensure compliance.
• Contribute to business development: proposals, budgeting, client presentations, strategy.
• Represent Medical Safety internally and externally; maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Drive continuous improvement from industry and regulatory developments.
• Provide global safety oversight across development and post-marketing programs.
• Lead medical review of safety data, regulatory reports, and risk strategies.
• Manage safety projects with quality, compliance, and on-time delivery.
• Lead and resource teams of physicians and safety professionals worldwide.
• Support growth through client engagement, proposals and strategic initiatives.
