Diversity matters

We are building a brand that represents the people of the world. It’s what you do that counts, and we are always looking to expand perspectives and voices to shape our future.

We see you, we celebrate you, we want you!

Who we are

You might know us as the inventors of the bath bomb, but there’s more to this great-smelling, partly employee-owned, family-run company than pioneering cosmetics. We believe our business should put more back into the world than it takes and demonstrate that capitalism can be a force for good.

The Living Wage Foundation’s statement 'a hard day's work deserves a fair day's pay' is one that we are proud to commit to in the UK. As an accredited Living Wage employer, we put our people first and fight cruel practices like animal testing, promote regeneration, and show that it is what’s inside that counts - whether that’s an ingredient in a product, or the minerals in a smartphone.

About the Role

Following a successful relaunch in 2021, our flagship packaging return scheme, Bring it Back, is ready for its next big evolution. With shifting global packaging legislation, fluctuating return rates, and a pressing need for robust end-of-life solutions for our packaging, we are seeking a dedicated professional to give this vital initiative the focus it deserves. In this 18-month fixed-term contract, you will give the programme the dedicated capacity it needs to scale return rates, tighten global compliance, and modernise our systems.

Your primary purpose will be to drive the growth, consistency, and compliance of the Bring it Back scheme worldwide. You will pair day-to-day scheme coordination with well-defined improvement projects to support new market launches, refine operational processes, and sharpen our communication strategy. By automating reporting workflows and establishing rock-solid data integrity, you will empower local markets to increase returns and provide clear evidence of our circular economy impact.

Please note: We may close this vacancy early if we receive an overwhelming response or our business requirements change.

Key Responsibilities

Global Scheme Growth & Coordination (~40%)

  • Market Expansion & Transitions: Guide group and partner markets through scheme launches, deposit model transitions, and the shift to full plastic take-back schemes, including change management for regional recycling partners.
  • Performance & Engagement: Coordinate impact-driven campaigns (e.g., Double Rewards, scheme anniversary activations) and partner with retail teams and Ethical Champions to boost returns in lower-performing shops.
  • Operational Assets & Merchandising: Maintain, localise, and refresh all store and digital touchpoints—including training tools, guides, and signage—while championing returned-material merchandise in collaboration with central design teams.
  • Data, Reporting & Insights: Own global contact and returns master data, roll out monthly reporting across all markets, and partner with Power BI teams to build a centralised analytics dashboard.
  • Communications & Logistics: Produce compelling internal and external content (reports, newsletters, media) and support strategic logistics projects, such as freight consolidation initiatives to reduce transport costs.

European Regional Operations (~20%)

  • Local Network Optimisation: Identify local HDPE and PET recycling partners across European markets to minimise cross-border transport requirements, carbon footprint, and logistics costs.
  • Partner & Store Management: Act as the primary operational liaison between retail stores and regional recycling partners to resolve queries smoothly and drive closed-loop HDPE initiatives.

Continuous Improvement & Values-Data Systems (~30%)

  • Data Automation & Analytics: Brief and collaborate with data teams to automate stats for plastic-free and naked ranges, integrated systems (e.g., The Vault), and core scheme reporting.
  • Targeted Interventions: Leverage values-led metrics (returns, engagement, Mystery Shopper data) to help regional Retailers drive sustainability performance in lagging stores.
  • Resource Modernisation: Overhaul packaging guides and automate product-level packaging info into central systems to keep global retail teams informed.

Strategic Priorities & 18-Month Deliverables

  • Global Recycling & End-of-Life Audit: Conduct a comprehensive audit of all global partners, costs, and true end-of-life processing to build an actionable 18-month improvement roadmap.
  • Regulatory & Labelling Adaptation: Guide change management for new European packaging regulations (PPWR) and create clear packaging code and recycling guides for copy, design, and artwork teams.
  • Strategic Partner Trials: Support North American logistics consolidation, assist European procurement shifts, and trial next-generation recycling partners.
  • Governance Frameworks: Establish a biannual global audit process for international bag-charge compliance.
