Job summary

Rodeo FX in Paris seeks a Generalist TD to partner with the Pipeline team, building tools and workflows so artists across departments can work efficiently. You will implement reusable code, script pipelines, and provide frontline support to keep production moving.

Proficiency in Python, Houdini, Maya or Katana, Linux, and strong debugging skills are required. You will document tools and train artists, coordinate with supervisors, and help meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar position within the VFX or video-game industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, computer visualization, computer animation or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with Python scripting.
• Good knowledge of Houdini, Maya or Katana.
• Good understanding of Linux operating system.
• Strong debugging and development testing skills.
• Able to communicate solutions clearly and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Create verifiable, efficient and reusable tools using software development best practices.
• Develop tools to meet production demands, ensuring they meet departmental standards.
• Maintain a wide range of workflows and scripts.
• Provide front-line support to artists and troubleshoot assets.
• Work with supervisors to determine technical and creative approaches.
• Create and communicate documentation on the tools and provide training for artists.
• Perform quality control to ensure specifications, user requirements, and peer review standards are met.
• Keep the team informed of progress, issues and potential solutions.
• Ensure deadlines are met and alert the team if delays are expected.
