Job summary

Checkout.com is seeking a senior Data Scientist to join the Identity Verification Team. You will build next-generation verification features using GenAI and Computer Vision in a production environment, collaborating across Product, Development, and Data teams.

You will safeguard data integrity, translate complex insights into practical recommendations, and help drive data-driven decisions that shape Checkout.com's global verification platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applied experience as a Data Scientist in data-intensive environments.
• Expert-level Python programming and deploying models in production.
• GenAI/Computer Vision model experimentation and scalable pipelines.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fluent French (written and spoken) is required from day one.

Responsibilities

• Drive design and development of GenAI and Computer Vision-based approaches for identity verification challenges.
• Execute deep-dive exploratory data analysis to generate meaningful insights guiding product direction.
• Design, implement, and analyze rigorous experiments and A/B tests to measure model performance.
• Take ownership of end-to-end model development from concept to deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Risk) to maximize impact of data science initiatives.
• Champion technical excellence and knowledge sharing within the Data organization.
