Description du poste

Interested in integrating a determined and dynamic team?

Ready to bring your creativity and knowledge to design innovative deep tech systems at lightning speed while collaborating with transdisciplinary, international partners?

PRONOE is an ocean CO2 removal startup based in France. We restore the ocean’s natural capacity to permanently remove CO2 from the air in a sustainable, scalable, and asset-light manner. We develop and deploy automated water treatment systems that safely turn the liquid discharge of coastal industries into less acidic, more alkaline flows within current regulations. The result is high-quality CO2 removal, valorization of otherwise wasted effluents, and local ocean acidification mitigation.

Context :

Under the supervision of the CTO, you will be a part of our Research and Development team, focusing on environmental impact. You will participate in projects on effluent dispersion into ocean environments, focusing on marine geochemistry and the ocean carbon cycle. Thus, help PRONOE achieve critical milestones in our technical development.

Main Missions :

  • Lead the implementation of mathematical models to evaluate the trajectory of return flows into the ocean, and their impact on in the ocean carbon cycle (ocean alkalinity enhancement).
  • Develop protocols for sensor placements and models for monitoring, reporting, and verification for ocean CO2 removal.
  • Coordinate modeling and lab / field experiments in geochemistry, internally and with 3rd party partners (including academic institutions).
  • Set up experimental, monitoring, and analytical protocols and equipment for lab and field tests, analyze experimental data, identify trends, and propose new research axes.

Education : Degree in ocean geochemistry (Eng., MSc, PhD).

Experience : Geochemical engineering, environmental impact analysis, water treatment, fluid dynamics, data handling, sensors, mathematical / mechanistic / numerical modeling, automatization, and project management.

Relevant Industries : Geochemical, carbon dioxide removal, chemical, environmental, wastewater treatment.

Skills & Behaviors we expect :

  • Proficiency in scientific English, good writing, and oral communication skills are necessary.
  • Technical skills : Experience in mathematical modelling applied to geochemistry, environmental control via field sensors, modeling of piping systems, data treatment tools, analytical chemistry, and automation systems.
  • A Pragmatic, Autonomous, and Rigorous Individual with analytical and synthetical thinking,
  • An Open-minded, Humble, Reliable and Trustworthy Team Player.

Practicalities :

Full-time Open-ended (CDI) position based in Paris (France), with travels in France and Europe.

Competitive compensation (salary and equity), based on seniority and experience.

Benefits : health insurance, meal vouchers, 50% commute refund. We can sponsor / support relocation visa if needed.

Apply by emailing us to hiring@pronoe.earth.

Make sure to attach a Resume and a Cover Letter and state the reference of the offer : HR-ENG-007
