Résumé du poste

Infinite Orbits, based in Toulouse, is expanding its Ground Segment Software team. As a Full-Stack Engineer you will help design and build the software tools the mission team uses to calculate, monitor, perform and plan operations.

Among others, these tools are essential to realise flight dynamics operations from ground, and to command, control, and safely conduct rendezvous and docking operations with client spacecraft.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Python, Go and TypeScript.
  • Frontend experience with React and Next.js.
  • Strong grasp of SQL databases and data modeling.
  • Experience designing and building APIs with gRPC and REST.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container-based deployment.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, OVH, or equivalent).
  • Experience with object/file storage services (MinIO, S3, or similar).
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid testing discipline (unit/integration/system tests).
  • Strong communication skills and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsabilités

  • Build and maintain backend services (Python, Go and TypeScript) for telemetry processing and telecommanding.
  • Develop operator-facing web interfaces (React, Next.js) for rendezvous and docking control.
  • Implement responsive UIs with live data streams (WebSockets / SSE).
  • Design data models and queries against PostgreSQL/time-series stores for mission data handling.
  • Design and consume APIs over gRPC and REST to integrate MCS components.
  • Work with object/file storage services (MinIO, S3-compatible) for mission data and imagery.
  • Deploy, run, and troubleshoot services on Kubernetes across cloud environments (AWS, OVH).
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ship reliably and repeatedly.
  • Write unit, integration, and system tests to ensure mission readiness.

Description du poste

Established in 2017, Infinite Orbits is a NewSpace company, based in Toulouse, pushing the boundaries of in-orbit services with cutting-edge spacecraft driven by its own Rendez-Vous solution, an advanced Autonomous Vision-Based Navigation Solution. IO has two generations of missions

"Orbit Guard" provides Inspection and Space Situational Awareness services in GEO.

"Endurance" is a docking service capable of extending the life of GEO telecom satellites, by taking over AOCS takeover for 5 years.

About the Role

As a Full-Stack Engineer on the Ground Segment Software team, you'll help design and build the software tools that the mission team uses to calculate, monitor, perform and plan operations. Among others, these tools are essential to realise flight dynamics operations from ground, and to command, control, and safely conduct rendezvous and docking operations with client spacecraft. This is a hands-on engineering role at the core of our ground infrastructure.

Job Description

Build and maintain backend services (Python, Go and Typescript) for telemetry processing and telecommanding, enabling operators to monitor and control the satellite's trajectory and state, both absolute and relative to the client spacecraft, during rendezvous and docking

Develop operator-facing web interfaces (React, Next.js) for controlling and operating the rendezvous and docking equipment, and for verifying and validating operations before execution, including by interfacing with mission simulators

Implement responsive, low-latency UIs backed by live data streams (e.g. WebSockets / server-sent events), keeping the operator view in sync with the spacecraft

Design and optimize data models and queries against SQL databases (PostgreSQL / time-series stores) for mission data handling

Design and consume service APIs over gRPC and REST to integrate the MCS components and operational tooling

Work with object/file storage services (e.g. MinIO, S3-compatible stores) to handle mission data, downlinked imagery, and archives, including the telemetry and images that drive relative-trajectory monitoring

Deploy, run, and troubleshoot services on Kubernetes across cloud environments (AWS, OVH)

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ship reliably and repeatably

Write unit, integration, and system-level tests to keep the codebase robust and mission-ready

Requirements

2–3 years of professional software engineering experience

Solid proficiency in Python, Go and Typescript

Frontend experience with React and Next.js

Strong grasp of SQL databases and data modeling

Experience designing and building APIs with gRPC and REST

Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container-based deployment

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, OVH, or equivalent)

Experience with object/file storage services (MinIO, S3, or similar)

Experience building CI/CD pipelines

A solid testing discipline, comfortable writing unit, integration, and system tests

Strong communication skills and ability to work in a cross-disciplinary team

Nice to have

Experience with space, aerospace, or other mission-critical / real-time systems

Familiarity with messaging systems (e.g. NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ) and event-driven architecture

Exposure to ground segment standards (CCSDS, ECSS/PUS, XTCE) or mission control software (YAMCS, SCOS-2000)

Rust exposure
