Job summary

Mistral AI is seeking Applied Scientists to build frontier cybersecurity models. You will develop domain-specialized foundation models, design rigorous evaluations, and create sandboxed environments with RL tasks.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
• Experience building harnesses, benchmarks or RL environments for code, agentic or security tasks.
• Hands-on security background in vulnerability research, exploit development, red teaming, or detection and incident response.
• Writes clean, readable Python code; comfortable with large codebases.

Responsibilities

• Develop, pre-train and post-train domain-specific foundation models for cybersecurity.
• Design evaluations and benchmarks measuring realistic security capabilities.
• Build sandboxed execution environments, RL tasks, and verifiers grounded in real workflows.
• Generate and curate training data; develop tools/frameworks for data gen, training, eval and deployment.
• Own technical delivery across project sprints and communicate research with customer teams.
