IXO Prepare is seeking a skilled French-language audio editor to prepare speech recordings for reliable use in TTS evaluation. The role combines dialogue restoration, batch quality control, and listening judgment on French material.

Responsibilities include removing silence, breaths, clicks, and noise without harming the voice; detecting clipping and artifacts; balancing loudness to meet technical specs; and ensuring natural French pronunciation. Pay is $55/hr, and work is remote.

Qualifications

• Experience with iZotope RX, Pro Tools or equivalent restoration software.
• Experience with high-volume audio collections or structured production workflows.
• Ability to repair audible defects reproducibly.

Your work at IXO Prepare French speech recordings for reliable use in text-to-speech and speech-model evaluation. The job combines dialogue restoration, batch quality control and French-language listening judgment.

Responsibilities

• Remove excess silence, intrusive breaths, clicks, sibilance and background noise without damaging the voice.
• Detect clipping, distortion, processing artifacts and inconsistent recording levels.
• Balance loudness and confirm that the output follows the specified technical requirements.
• Check French pronunciation, fluency and whether the delivery sounds natural.
• Apply consistent decisions across large batches, recording unresolved defects and keeping throughput compatible with careful listening.

Required experience

Native or near-native French is required, together with hands-on editing of spoken voice. Music-production experience alone does not establish the necessary dialogue-restoration background. You should understand common speech-quality defects and work confidently in iZotope RX, Pro Tools or equivalent restoration software. Experience with high-volume audio collections or another structured production workflow is required. Bring both critical listening judgment and the ability to repair audible defects reproducibly.

Helpful specialties

TTS systems, speech machine learning, voice datasets, annotation and audio QA pipelines are valuable experience. Direction or editing of French voice talent is also useful. Familiarity with human-versus-synthetic speech requirements helps when a technically clean clip still sounds unnatural.

Deliverables and pay

Deliverables are cleaned French recordings, quality-control findings and a consistent batch handoff. IXO will agree the specification, workload and review process before the engagement begins.

Pay is $55/hr in USD. Work is remote.
