Mercor is seeking experienced French Linguistic Experts to join a cutting-edge AI research project in partnership with a leading research lab. The role centers on evaluating how effectively a large language model (LLM) performs in French-language tasks and on curating high-quality French linguistic data to train and improve the model’s understanding and generation capabilities.

You’ll work with a distributed team from Paris and beyond, leveraging your native or near-native fluency in French,

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in French with excellent grammar, syntax, and stylistics.
• Experience in translation, editing, linguistic annotation, or NLP data work in French.
• Understanding of linguistic nuances, regional variations, and context-appropriate usage.
• Interest in AI and LLM-driven language technologies (preferred but not required).
• Attention to detail and ability to spot subtle errors or unnatural phrasing.
• Experience working in distributed, remote teams.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate quality and accuracy of LLM-generated French text across various use cases (e.g., translation, summarization, dialogue, grammar correction).
• Edit, refine, or rewrite French content to meet linguistic and cultural standards.
• Annotate French text for grammatical, syntactic, and semantic features.
• Identify model errors and language gaps, and collaborate with AI researchers to improve LLM performance.
• Provide detailed linguistic feedback and analysis to guide ongoing model training efforts.
