Description du poste

A leading international company specializing in advanced electronic and embedded systems for high-performance applications across aerospace, defense, and critical infrastructure sectors. The organization is driven by innovation and systems integration excellence, delivering complex hardware and firmware solutions that meet rigorous operational and security standards. Multidisciplinary collaboration, technical ambition, and cross-border project development are key components of its R&D culture.

Mission

The FPGA Design Engineer will contribute to the development of high-performance embedded electronic systems by designing, simulating, and integrating custom digital circuits targeting both FPGA and ASIC technologies. Working within a matrix environment, the engineer will play a key role in the full lifecycle of hardware design—from feasibility studies to functional integration—ensuring alignment with system-level requirements, quality standards, and project milestones.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in feasibility assessments and technical specification of custom digital circuits.
  • Define and evaluate system architecture in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Model and implement designs in VHDL, including synthesis, place & route, and functional verification.
  • Produce associated documentation for internal reviews and external stakeholders.
  • Support hardware and software integration on target boards.
  • Interface with adjacent domains (PCB design, embedded software, test benches) to ensure coherent system integration.
  • Contribute to mentoring junior FPGA engineers and support subcontractor coordination, depending on experience.
  • Assist project and discipline leads in managing costs, risks, and delivery timelines.
  • Operate within a matrix organization involving both project-specific and discipline-specific teams.
  • Engage in international collaboration for functional reuse and joint European development programs.
  • Participate in multi-site projects involving cross-border coordination of engineering activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Electronics or Embedded Systems Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Solid experience in FPGA or ASIC design.
  • Proficiency in high-speed digital electronics (e.g., Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe).
  • Good understanding of real-time embedded systems and low-level software interaction.
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA development tools: simulation (ModelSim), synthesis (Synplify Pro), place & route for Xilinx, Microsemi, or Intel families.
  • Programming knowledge in VHDL, C/C++, SystemVerilog; familiarity with Model-Based Design tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.
  • Experience working with safety and certification standards (e.g., DO-254, DO-178, IEC 61508, ISO 26262) is a plus.
  • Location: Bourges, France
  • Job Type: Hybrid
  • Sector: Aviation and Aerospace Component Manufacturing
