Financial Specialist – Job Responsibilities

We are currently looking for a Financial Specialist. The details job responsibilities are as follows:

• Responsible for the accounting operations of the French subsidiary, ensuring compliance with French GAAP (PCG – Plan Comptable Général) and supporting alignment with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Support the preparation and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement) to group headquarters.
• Assist in liaising with external audit firms for statutory financial audits and tax audits under supervision, including preparation of audit documentation and follow‑up support.
• Responsible for the accurate calculation and timely filing of key French taxes, including but not limited to: Value Added Tax (TVA), Corporate Income Tax (Impôt sur les Sociétés – IS), Social security contributions and employer charges. Maintain tax records and support responses to basic inquiries from French tax authorities to help mitigate tax risks.
• Monitor changes in French and EU fiscal and tax regulations (e.g., EU digital tax initiatives, transfer pricing developments) and assist in updating internal tax and accounting documentation accordingly.
• Support the maintenance and daily operation of the local SAP finance module (SAP FI) under guidance, ensuring consistency between system data and accounting records. Collaborate with other departments on routine financial and accounting processes.
• Assist external payroll service providers by preparing employee payroll data and supporting basic payroll calculations, ensuring compliance with French labour law and social security regulations. Maintain relevant payroll and administrative records.
• Complete other tasks assigned by the company and supervisors.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or above is preferred, with relevant majors such as finance or accounting.
• More than 3 years of comprehensive financial experience in small and medium‑sized enterprises is preferred. Familiarity with French and EU fiscal and tax regulations is required.
• Proficiency in English as a working language is required, and knowledge of French is preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and SAP financial software (such as the SAP FI module) is preferred.
• The ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks is preferred.
• Those with rigorous logic, sensitivity to numbers, proficiency in supporting business decisions through data analysis, and the ability to strictly safeguard financial confidentiality and compliance boundaries are preferred.
