Job summary

Air Apps in Lisbon is seeking a Financial Controller to own financial reporting, controls, and accounting operations. You will review operations, participate in budgeting/forecasting, and ensure tax compliance to enable strategic decision-making.

This fully onsite role offers relocation support and works closely with cross-functional teams to drive financial efficiency and scalable processes. Fluency in English is essential.

Qualifications

• Around 5+ years of experience in accounting, controlling, or financial management.
• Degree in Accounting, Management, Finance, or a related field (bachelor’s or master’s).
• Chartered Accountant qualification is a strong plus.
• Solid understanding of accounting standards, financial statements, and tax regulations.
• Experience with tools such as Excel, Netsuite, Payhawk, Ramp, Oracle, or SAGE.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, control and report financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes across departments and product lines.
• Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and reporting.
• Oversee internal control systems and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and tax obligations.
• Collaborate in a fast-moving environment, cross-functionally to align financial reporting and business goals.
• Manage cash flow, cost control, and ad-hoc financial risk assessments.
• Optimize automation of ERP and accounting tools such as Netsuite, Payhawk, Ramp.
• Analyze and report variances, provide insights into financial performance metrics.
• Contribute to business planning and strategic initiatives with financial insights.
• Continuously improve financial processes, systems, and controls for scalability and efficiency.
