Upway is a high‑growth start‑up committed to making electric mobility accessible to everyone. Upway purchases second‑hand e‑bikes, refurbishes them and sells them online through its websites. The company operates in France, Germany, Belgium, the United‑States and the Netherlands. Upway is recruiting for the position of group finance controller. The main objectives are to continue building the finance department of the company, elevate financial visibility and reporting quality and establish a robust internal control framework.

What you will do:

• Manage projects to significantly improve the quality, speed, and efficiency of Group reporting processes,
• Increase the visibility and accuracy of the group P&L and cash flow statement,
• Take ownership of the internal control function: design, implement and maintain a comprehensive risks and controls matrix adhering to international internal control best practices,
• Actively participate in the finance hiring process as we scale the team globally,
• Support founders on ad‑hoc finance related projects.

What you will need:

• Academic background: strong business, engineering or financial background,
• Experience: 5+ years of relevant financial experience, including 3+ years in an audit firm,
• Expertise: solid understanding of accounting principles,
• Language proficiency: fluency in English and French. German/ Dutch speaking could a plus but not required,
• Project management skills: ability to plan and deliver initiatives of varying durations and scales,
• Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, rigorous attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities to work effectively with both finance and non‑finance teams
