Job summary

Thompson Machinery in La Vergne, TN is seeking a Field Service Preventive Maintenance Technician to service Caterpillar and competitive construction equipment in the field.

You will perform oil changes, filter replacements, flush fluids, and inspections, traveling to customer sites with a service truck, and adhering to EPA guidelines.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and PM training; a CDL-B and willingness to travel are required; safety and customer service matter.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• PM technician training or service maintenance training preferred.
• 1–2 years PM experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical instructions, safety manuals, service manuals, company policies and procedures.
• Provide lube service on construction equipment, engines and powertrains, and respond to customer needs safely and promptly.
• Operate a field service truck and inspect post-service issues or leaks.
• May lift up to 25–30 pounds and travel as required.
• Maintain a CDL-B license and DOT medical card as needed for vehicle operation.
• Work independently at various customer sites and adhere to EPA disposal guidelines.
