Responsabilités

• Perform on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive/corrective maintenance on UPS systems and related equipment.
• Manage commissioning activities, system start-ups, performance testing, installation checks and acceptance procedures.
• Provide advanced technical support during complex customer incidents and document findings.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of products and service procedures and prepare technical reports.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading international group specialising in electrical and mission-critical infrastructure solutions.

The Company

Our client is a global technology group specialising in energy management, critical power and cooling solutions. The company supports demanding customers across data centres, telecommunications, industry, healthcare and other mission-critical environments.

As part of the continued growth of its Data Center Solutions business in France, the company is looking for a Field Service Engineer specialising in Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.

This is a home-based position, ideally located in the Ile de France region, involving regular travel throughout France and occasional travel elsewhere in Europe.

Your Responsibilities

As part of the Service organisation, you will help customers ensure the availability, performance and reliability of their critical infrastructure.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Performing on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive and corrective maintenance on UPS systems and related equipment.
• Managing and carrying out commissioning activities, system start-ups, performance testing, installation checks and technical acceptance procedures.
• Providing advanced technical support during complex or critical customer incidents.
• Conducting root-cause analyses and sharing findings with Engineering and Product teams.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of products, maintenance methods and service procedures.
• Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, including service reports, procedures, troubleshooting guides and best-practice standards.
• Defining scopes of work for installation, commissioning and maintenance activities.
• Delivering technical training to internal service teams, service partners and customers.
• Supporting the onboarding, technical assessment and development of service partners.
• Working closely with Sales and Product teams on pre-sales and after-sales activities, system upgrades and modernisation opportunities.
• Helping to maintain a consistently high level of service quality and customer satisfaction.

Candidate Profile

• A degree or equivalent technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electrotechnics or a related discipline.
• At least three years’ experience in the maintenance, commissioning or troubleshooting of UPS systems, power electronics or critical electrical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installations and high-power systems.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in the field.
• Comfortable working independently in demanding, customer-facing environments.
• A practical, detail-oriented and customer-focused approach.
• Strong communication and technical reporting skills.
• Fluent French and a good professional working knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
• A full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly throughout France, with occasional travel elsewhere in Europe.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in data centres, mission-critical environments or 24/7 infrastructure.
• Knowledge of cooling systems.
• Familiarity with SCADA, BMS or Building Management Systems.
• Knowledge of battery technologies.
• Relevant electrical safety qualifications or technical certifications.
