Overview

Our systems help governments and organizations combat terrorism, drug trafficking, illegal immigration, and trade fraud.

Role Overview

As a Field Service Engineer based in France, you will oversee effective maintenance and repair of Cargo Vehicle Inspection (CVI) systems. You will foster a collaborative work environment, drive service excellence, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and perform maintenance and repairs on CVI systems (M60, P60, ZBV).
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for France and Belgium, ensuring timely issue resolution.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and fault diagnosis on CVI systems and subsystems.
  • Manage Mercedes vehicle servicing including oil, lubricant, and filter changes.
  • Plan and execute scheduled maintenance and system repairs.
  • Respond to third-line technical support requests from engineers and customer representatives.
  • Provide defect liability and post-acceptance support for CVI equipment.
  • Complete and review service documentation and update technical databases.
  • Ensure all issued equipment is maintained in safe and operational condition.
  • Promote respectful customer interactions, considering cultural and language differences.
  • Enforce health and safety practices and uphold company values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  • Report quality issues and ensure ISO compliance.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience with complex technical systems including engines, drives, PLCs, transmitters, receivers, electrical systems, IT components, and generators.
  • Mercedes truck experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently with limited resources.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical issues.
  • Engineering qualification such as BTEC, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of IT networking solutions (e.g., CCNP or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with integrated systems including PLCs, HV systems, and radar.
  • Relevant practical experience will be considered.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for managing cross-cultural teams.
  • Fluency in French and English.
