Job summary

HyLight in Brétigny-sur-Orge, near Paris, is hiring a Mechanical Integration and Test Engineer to own the drone’s mechanical lifecycle, ensuring robust, easy-to-assemble hardware for mission-critical inspections and sustained field availability.

You will lead conceptual design of subsystems, validate with rapid iteration (CAD, prototyping, testing), establish fatigue models, run HALT/HASS tests, and implement root‑cause analysis to keep fleet performance high and issues closing quickly.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience designing rugged outdoor mechanical systems (fatigue, vibration).
• Experience in test planning (DoE), designing test equipment (fixtures, set-ups), testing, analyzing results, and writing reports and new test specs.

Responsibilities

• Creative Design: lead conceptual design of mechanical subsystems and airframe evolutions with rapid iteration (CAD, 3D printing, machining) balancing manufacturability and high-performance engineering.
• Reliability & Lifecycle Management: establish fatigue models and design accelerated life tests (HALT/HASS) to predict End of Life and maximize fleet availability.
• Root Cause Excellence: implement systematic Root Cause Analysis for field failures with rapid design updates and strong feedback between engineering and operations.
