KLA is seeking a Field Application Engineer in France to support customers on CVD, PVD and Etch products. The role reports to European Application Manager and involves national and international travel, including weekends.
You will develop customer solutions, present training materials, and collaborate with BU groups within SPTS division. Required are advanced degrees in a relevant field and experience with semiconductor processing.

SPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVD), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments. SPTS is headquartered and has its main manufacturing facility in Newport, UK, with additional manufacturing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. SPTS operates across 19 countries in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, and offers comprehensive service and spare parts support through a worldwide network of service centers and qualified local agents.
We currently have a vacancy for the position of Field Application Engineer. This position will report directly to European Application Manager Jafar Al-Kuzee. This position will involve both national and international travel.
Together with the field team obtaining filed acceptance on customer’s sites.
Providing answers to questions from the customer. Visiting the customer to progress the opportunity through discussion and presentation.
Developing contacts at customers, suppliers, analysts etc that can be used as sources of market or competitor intelligence.
Suggesting potential upgrade opportunities. Identifying weaknesses in the product based on customer needs.
The Field Application Engineer will provide input and support to customers primary on the CVD, PVD products then gradually get more involve on the ETCH side. They will also communicate and present materials that offer solutions to customer issues in conjunction with the BU groups in SPTS division. They will also be involved in providing and presenting customers with training materials. The role will require heavy travel mainly in Europe that may exceed 50% of total time. Occasional weekend work and international travel may also be required for the role.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate some knowledge of how semiconductors are manufactured, the processing of semiconductors by plasma CVD, PVD or Etch and semiconductor packaging. Experience of wafer processing gained at either an equipment vendor or wafer fab would be advantageous.
