Alignerr is seeking an Environmental Science Expert (AI Training) to design, solve and review advanced environmental science problems for training AI models. This fully remote hourly contract role welcomes Masters and PhDs in Environmental Science or related fields and values deep domain expertise with scientific rigor.

You will collaborate with AI researchers to craft high-quality problem statements, evaluate AI-generated content for accuracy, and deliver independently on a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Environmental Science or closely related field.
• Strong expertise in climate modeling, ecology, sustainability, or earth systems science.
• Proficient coding in Python or R for research or quantitative analysis.
• Excellent written communication; able to convey complex science clearly.

About The Role

• Apply your expertise in climate modeling, ecology, sustainability, or related disciplines to craft complex, meaningful problem statements

Who You Are

• Master's or PhD in Environmental Science or a closely related field
• Strong expertise in at least one of: climate modeling, ecology, environmental sustainability, or earth systems science
• Comfortable coding in Python or R for research or quantitative analysis
• Exceptionally clear written communicator — you can explain complex science without sacrificing accuracy
• Detail-oriented and methodical, with a genuine commitment to quality
• Fluent in English

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or AI evaluation workflows
• Background in scientific publishing, peer review, or academic research
• Familiarity with AI tools or large language model outputs
• Experience translating technical findings for non-specialist audiences
