Mistral is seeking an Engineering Team Lead to build and scale our core platform supporting AI products. You will balance hands-on coding with strategic leadership, guiding a distributed team to deliver reliable infrastructure for developers and users.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Python and web frameworks (FastAPI, Django or Flask).
• Experience with C#, Golang, or TypeScript and at least one web framework.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience building and leading engineering teams.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Business).
• Knowledge of databases, caching, and messaging systems.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ownership mindset and ability to ship end-to-end.
• Excellent communication with a low-ego, team-first attitude.

The Role

As an Engineering Team Lead, you will build and develop the core platform that supports our AI products. This role combines technical execution with leadership, ensuring our systems work effectively for developers and users. Your work will directly improve the developer experience, making it more efficient and intuitive. The team builds reliable infrastructure that supports our products and enables seamless integration for both internal and external users. You will split your time between hands-on coding and strategic leadership, including project planning, stakeholder collaboration, and team growth. This balance allows you to drive technical solutions while guiding the team toward long-term success.

What You Will Do

• Remove obstacles and create an environment where your team can focus on building solutions.

What We're Looking For

• Proficiency in Python and at least one web framework (FastAPI, Django, Flask).
