Job summary

Mistral AI is seeking a Senior Infra/Backend Lead to guide a team building secure, scalable environments for AI agents. You will own architectural decisions, drive performance, and mentor engineers across the stack.

The role focuses on designing isolation primitives, scaling fleets, and collaborating with product teams to ship practical AI infrastructure at scale in a European-centric company.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of people leadership experience managing engineers.
• Deep Linux internals including namespaces, cgroups, and seccomp.
• Proven track record shipping production systems in Go.
• Experience with network isolation at the packet level.
• Strong performance optimization instincts and profiling.
• 8+ years building backend or infrastructure systems.
• Collaborates with product, design, and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Build the isolation layer with microVMs or containers.
• Own the security boundary to keep customer code safe.
• Scale fleets with low latency and high density.
• Design and implement architecture with your team.
• Grow engineers and set ownership standards.
• Lead people management: hiring, performance, growth, feedback.
• Partner with Product Managers to translate frontier research into primitives.
