Job summary

Orasio, a Paris-based leader in AI-powered video intelligence, seeks an Engineering Lead for Forensic Solutions. You will own the architecture, tech roadmap and end-to-end delivery of the forensic vertical, partnering with Product leads and investigators to turn hours of video into evidence.

You will lead a small squad of engineers across React frontends, Python/FastAPI backends and ML pipelines, delivering fast, auditable, and court-ready outputs in on-premise and air-gapped environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of production systems.
• Proven experience leading engineering of product, platform or major technical domain end to end.
• Track record of decisive architecture choices with long-term impact.
• Experience leading a small team of strong engineers while remaining hands-on.
• Backend: Python and FastAPI experience.
• Database: PostgreSQL at scale with design, migrations and tuning.
• Frontend: React and TypeScript expertise, maintainable UI code.
• Knowledge of REST API design and event-driven system trade-offs.
• Pragmatic, minimal code approach with strong typing and tests.
• Ability to communicate with non-technical users in high-stakes settings.
• Familiar with AI tooling for developer experience.
• Fluency in French and English; NATO security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the vertical's engineering team as it scales, with emphasis on architecture and reliability.
• Own production architecture, deployment, performance and incident response for the forensic product.
• Trade off speed, scope, quality and long-term maintainability.
• Lead delivery across software, ML and platform engineers and deployments.
• Turn deployment lessons into reusable capabilities across products.
• Design and build fullstack features across React frontends and FastAPI backends.
• Build ingestion pipelines for large video volumes and metadata.
• Create multi-camera, multi-source investigation workflows and court-ready outputs.
• Contribute to shared TypeScript, Python and Rust libraries.
