Job summary

AQEMIA is seeking an Engineering Lead for Compute in Paris/London to guide a four-person software team turning research into scalable production systems. You’ll stay close to code, shape architecture, and drive delivery of critical features for our AI and simulations platform.

You’ll work with scientists and senior leadership, grow the team, hire new engineers, and ensure reliable, scalable compute infrastructure across hybrid environments with remote-friendly flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Distributed Systems, Cloud Computing or a related field.
• 6+ years in software engineering, including building and running production systems at scale.
• First experience in a people management role with direct reports.
• High ownership and autonomy with ability to translate theory into practical impact.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Hands-on Python and modern backend development, current with production code.
• Deploy and run production workloads on public cloud and Kubernetes.
• Owned a technical roadmap and coordinated execution across teams.
• Enjoys coaching and building high-performing teams; pragmatic about trade-offs.
