Microchip Technology Inc. in Nantes, France seeks an Analog Validation Engineer II to support validation and characterization of new microcontrollers. You will work with analog design and product teams to develop validation plans and characterize ADCs, DACs, PLLs and op-amps.

You will develop embedded software for new MCUs, build automatic test benches with LabVIEW and TestStand, and analyze results to produce IP characterization reports, ensuring datasheet specs are met.

Qualifications

  • MSEE/MSCE from an accredited engineering school is required.
  • 1–3 years of related work experience.
  • Good knowledge of analog electronics.
  • Familiarity with ADC, DAC, PLL, op-amps IPs.
  • Experience with measurement equipment: oscilloscope, AWG, multimeter.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Desirable: embedded software development for MCUs (C-based).
  • Desirable: LabVIEW, TestStand, Python experience.
  • Desirable: JIRA, GIT, Confluence familiarity.
  • Desirable: data analysis tools like JMP.
  • Interest in working in an international environment.

Analog Validation Engineer II

We are seeking an Analog Validation Engineer II for Microchip’s MCU division to support analog validation and characterization of new microcontrollers. The position is based in Nantes, France.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development of new microcontrollers.
  • Collaborate worldwide with analog design, integration, application, and product engineering teams.
  • Define validation plans for analog blocks to be characterized (ADC, DAC, PLL, OPAMP, etc.).
  • Specify schematics for characterization hardware.
  • Develop embedded software for new microcontrollers.
  • Develop automatic test benches using NI LabVIEW and TestStand.
  • Debug new products with design teams to identify root‑cause issues.
  • Analyze measurement results, correlate them with design simulations, and write characterization reports for each IP.
  • Specify electrical performance of analog blocks for the product datasheet.
  • Contribute to the overall improvement of validation methods, quality, and optimization of processes, tools, and test infrastructure.
Qualifications
  • Required: MSEE/MSCE from an accredited engineering school.
  • 1–3 years of related work experience (new graduate to 2–3 years).
  • Good knowledge of analog electronics.
  • Some knowledge of analogue IPs such as ADC, DAC, PLL, analog comparator, crystal oscillator, Opamp, etc.
  • Experience with measurement methods and equipment such as oscilloscope, arbitrary waveform generator, multimeter, current and voltage source, etc.
  • Good analytical and problem‑solving skills (debug).
  • Rigorous, organized, autonomous, motivated, and passionate.
  • Fluent in English (write, read, listen).
  • Desired: Knowledge of microcontrollers: digital/analog functions and embedded software development (C‑based).
  • Desired: Automated test bench development experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, and Python.
  • Desired: Familiarity with collaborative development tools such as JIRA, GIT, Confluence.
  • Desired: Experience with data analysis tools like Excel, JMP.
  • Desired: Interest in working in an international environment (Europe, Asia, USA).
