Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in France is seeking a Firmware Engineer to develop and test firmware/embedded software for SSD products, focusing on C programming and debugging to meet performance, endurance and quality targets.

You will collaborate with the firmware team and cross-functional partners, provide clear status updates, and contribute to personal and team development within a leading memory solutions company.

Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering.
• Experience with firmware/embedded programming (C) and debugging.
• Experience with storage interfaces (PCIe/NVMe) and NAND is a plus.
• At least 2 years in embedded systems development.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware subsystems for SSD products meeting the technical specs (Performance, Endurance, Capacity, Functionality, Quality/Reliability).
• Firmware Quality Assurance: develop unit and functional tests to ensure firmware meets requirements.
• Provide detailed status updates to management and multi-functional teams.

DEVELOP AND TEST FIRMWARE

• SSD Products: Develop firmware IP subsystems for SSD products that meet or exceed the requirements of the technical spec matrix; including, but not limited to: Performance, Endurance, Capacity, Functionality, and Quality/Reliability
• Firmware Quality Assurance: Develop a firmware unit and functional tests that ensures the firmware subsystem meets the quality, functional, and performance requirements required at each integration breakthrough in the product development lifecycle

COMMUNICATION

• Consistently provide Management, multi-functional team members, and the firmware team with detailed and accurate information. This includes activities within the firmware development organization and project status updates.

DEVELOP PEOPLE

• Multi-functional Collaboration: Develop and maintain collaborative, open, and constructive relationships with peers and management
• Team Development: Provide technical capability that continuously improves team involvement, morale, and efficiency
• Personal Development: Work to continuously improve your technical capability and communication skills

REQUIREMENTS

• Masters or Bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with firmware/embedded programming (primary C programming) and debugging
• Experience working with storage interfaces ideally PCIE/NVMe is considered a plus.
• Experience working in NAND would be an advantage
• At least 2years or equivalent experience in the embedded systems development field
